The aim of the Peace Train is to help children become more aware of the need to develop skills and understanding to be peacemakers in today's world. This is achieved through the provision of a wide range of hands-on, interactive exhibits which are the peace train 'stations.' The importance of respecting diversity and our common humanity is just one of the many things that children will learn whilst having fun experiencing the stations.
Each station demonstrates a particular concept through a hands-on learning experience. Concepts include communication, self esteem, teamwork, environmental awareness, respecting differences, problem solving, etc.
Children receive a Peace Train Rail Pass containing activities experienced at each station.
The Peace Train is a trailer that can travel to you. It consists of a variety of stations that can be set up on your site. This can be in classrooms, a hall, an undercover area or just about anywhere space is available.
Volunteers act as 'Station Conductors' and assist the children through the stations and activities.
The Peace train stations are arranged in four areas -- Peace for Me, Peace for Us, Peace for All, and Peace for the Planet.
Programs can be designed to meet the needs and age of any group.
